Crossing the Corpus Callosum II: Neuroscience, Healing and Music A symposium hosted by the Longwood Symphony Orchestra http://www.longwoodsymphony.org/communityconversations/symposium2011.html Poster submissions are invited for Longwood Symphony Orchestra's day-long symposium on neuroscience, healing and music. The symposium will take place on January 29, 2011, 8:30-5 at the Northwest Building at Harvard University, 52 Oxford Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138. We welcome any research involving the intersection of basic or clinical neuroscience with music from disciplines including, but not limited to: neuroscience, neurology, cognitive science, psychology, psychiatry, physical therapy and rehabilitation, music therapy, music theory, and other areas. Specific topics covered by the conference include: ·         Music and brain development ·         Music and autism ·         Music and rehabilitation We welcome abstracts in these areas as well as other topics which involve some intersection of neuroscience, medicine and music. Confirmed speakers include: Gottfried Schlaug, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School Nina Kraus, Northwestern University Nadine Gaab, Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School Arthur Bloom, Renovation in Music Education Poster submissions should include the presenter and co-authors’ names, institutional affiliations, and title and abstract. Abstracts should be limited to 250 words. Please send abstracts to Michael Barnett (michael_barnett@xxxxxxxx) with the words "poster submission" in the subject line.
