The research focus of the lab is communication in challenging listening = environments. Current projects use a variety of behavioural = (psychophysical and neuropsychological) and functional imaging methods = to study speech production, hearing, auditory perceptual organization = and speech comprehension, in neurologically normal young and older = people. The lab is a vibrant and multidisciplinary environment, and = includes people with backgrounds in psychology, neuroscience, computer = science and engineering. The successful applicant will assume a = leadership role within the lab, participate actively in ongoing = activities, and will be encouraged to develop their own research = program. Kingston is a small city at the junction of Lake Ontario, the Rideau = Canal, and the St Lawrence River, near the Thousand Islands. It has a = rich architectural and military heritage, and the Rideau Canal and = Kingston Fortifications are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kingston is = valued by its inhabitants for its excellent quality of life, and = Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Syracuse, New York are within easy reach. Successful candidates will have a PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or a = related discipline.
