Hi all - Sorry to ask such a niche, applied question but I'm hoping someone out there knows the answer. A friend of mine who has a unilateral hearing loss is considering buying a Pocketalker for use in certain specific situations. Radio Shack's personal amplifier costs about 25% of what the Pocketalker costs. All I can find on the internet about the Pocketalker comes either from the company that makes and sells them, or from users who don't talk about one device versus the other. Does anyone have any experience with these devices, or know how they stack up in terms of sound quality? ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Sarah Hargus Ferguson, Ph.D., CCC-A Assistant Professor Department of Speech-Language-Hearing: Sciences and Disorders University of Kansas Dole Center 1000 Sunnyside Ave., Room 3001 Lawrence, KS 66045 office: (785)864-1116 Speech Acoustics and Perception Lab: (785)864-0610 http://www.ku.edu/~splh/ipcd/Faculty/FergusonBio.html
