While I think the responses on this issue are covering important aspects of the decision, one thing that hasn't been covered - and which I found particularly frustrating with MOTU - is customer support. I recently tried to find specs on noise floor and max input for some MOTU hardware we have. These specs cannot be found in our MOTU manual, nor online. After a frustrating process of getting through to someone at MOTU on the phone, submitting a request for the info, waiting 3 weeks with no response, and getting through to them on the phone again, I was told "we do not publish this data". This is basic data that I can easily find for other sound card manufacturers in manuals and online. Given the many sufficient alternatives, I would avoid MOTU for this reason alone. I am looking for recommendations for an internal PC high quality sound card that will be used to output auditory stimuli in my experiments. Would also be nice if there is an accompanying software development kit. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks. Rob -- G. Robert Arrabito, M.Sc.
