This year=2C the event will be hosted by departme= nt of Clinical and Experimental Audiology of the Academic Medical Center=2C= in cooperation with the department of Audiology of the VU University Medic= al Center and co-organised with University College London.=20 =20 The effect of noise on speech communication is a problem studied in many ar= eas: sound engineering=2C telecommunications=2C forensic audio=2C audiology= =2C phonetics and cognitive auditory psychology are just a few. Within thes= e workshops we aim to unite views from these and additional perspectives in= order to compile our knowledge of this fascinating topic. The workshop wil= l be an informal event and we welcome descriptions of work in progress as m= uch as presentations of fully developed studies.=20 =20 The workshop will consist of posters and invited talks. All participants ar= e welcome to present a poster.=20 =20 Assuming 8 or more submitted posters=2C the unofficial kick-off of the even= t will take place on the evening of the 7th of January with a Drinks & Post= ers session at AMC Amsterdam. Participants are encouraged to present a post= er of their current research but there is no obligation to do so: the aim o= f this evening is to drink and chat about speech in noise.=20 =20 The workshop will be held the 8th of January in the heart of Amsterdam.
