Douglas, I am a used-book junkie, particularly classic books on audition, vision, perception, physiology, mathematics and experimental psychology. I am particularly fond of books that are signed by the scientists that owned them. Needless to say I was quite pleased when Harris' book arrived and it turned out to have been owned previously by Creelman. I am saddened that this book appears to have been taken from you. I'd be more than happy to return the book to you. I always keep the receipts for my books. Looks like I purchased Harris' book while I was a Post-doc at Wisconsin for $30 on August 16, 2000 from a Toronto bookseller "Dr. Hoff's Therapeutic Bibliotheca" http://www.drhoff.com/books.htm Dr. Tory Hoff, Psychologist 2 Carlton Street, Suite 1009, Toronto, Ontario M5B 1J3 (at College Street subway stop on Yonge) phone: 416-429-9767 fax: 416-489-3351 You might be able to follow up with Dr Hoff to see who sold him the book. Here's the description from the bookseller at the time: "Harris, J. Donald (editor).: FORTY GERMINAL PAPERS IN HUMAN HEARING. A SOURCE BOOK IN PSYCHOACOUSTICS; Groton, CT Journal of Auditory Research 1969 1st edition Size: 7x10 [xiv, 442p, references, index] psychology psychoacoustics audition sound loudness threshold binaural hearing Cream paperback with black lettering, minor edgewear & no tears, covers lightly soiled & creased, spine area lightly browned, owner signature in ink at top of front cover, page ends lightly soiled, internally very good, tight & clean copy, VERY GOOD 7901 psycogn . It vanished when I left it out for students in a seminar, for them to read selections. I would be fascinated to know the provenance, the path it took to Denver. Best wishes, Doug Creelman -- C.
