In these new digital applications and systems=2C audi= o=20 processing is playing more and more role=2C which covers coding=2C indexing= =2C=20 capture=2C retrieval=2C surround sound=2C classification=2C recording=2C wa= termarking=2C=20 loudness control=2C transmission=2C other pre/post processing=2C and their = convergence=20 to silicon-chip. More importantly=2C the fast growing of digital=20 broadcasting services in mobile/handheld devices makes the=20 research and development of audio processing become very challenging tasks = and=20 require huge efforts of the related academic=2C research=2C industry=2C=20 standardization organizations=2C regulation authorities=2C content provider= s=2C and=20 services providers. This Special Issue aims to stimulate and guide the development of new and=20 improved audio processing systems by providing a unique form with high qual= ity=20 and timely manner for scientists=2C engineers=2C broadcasters=2C manufactur= ers=2C software developers and=20 others involved in the delivery and playback audio contents through broadca= sting=20 and IP based networks. It is also hoped that this special issue will attrac= t a=20 broad audience in audio=20 engineering community.
