The Echo Nest is a music intelligence company that is making large scale music APIs available to the world. We've been developing what we call a "Musical Brain" for the last few years, and it is now opening to you guys. The Musical Brain automatically listens to music and reads about music everywhere on the web in real time, understanding more about online music and fan opinion than any system to date. The first of our suite of APIs is called "Analyze." It is a web-based application that can analyze a music file in a few seconds to render an XML file detailing tatums, beats, time signature, song sections, onsets, timbre, chromas, key, and other musical attributes of the uploaded track. Analyze can power music visualization, real-time music games and DJ remix applications with a great level of music understanding. And it's only going to grow. The API comes with a fun demo application built with it called "This is my jam", http://www.thisismyjam.com , where users can create beat-matched, micro-mixes of favorite songs to share on blogs and social networks. Looking forward to seeing more...
