Selected researcher will work as a member of the Auditory Research Group at the Human Research and Engineering Directorate, U.S. Army Research Laboratory.=20 The Human Research and Engineering Directorate (HRED) is the principal center of the U.S. Army Research Laboratory conducting research directed toward optimizing soldier performance and man-machine interactions. The HRED examines human performance in the perceptual, cognitive, and psychomotor domains in order to increase the body of knowledge of human capabilities and limitations, and to assess the impact of emerging technologies on soldier performance. The Auditory Research Group carries out research activities in auditory displays, bone conduction, speech communication, and methods of hearing enhancement. Initial contract is for a twelve month period with a stipend up to $60,000 depending on experience. It is expected that the contract will be extended for another twelve-month period.
