Sheffield is responsible for research in the area of memory organisation and access, and the successful applicant is expected to take a lead role in the investigation of computational models for working memory, attention mechanisms, episodic vs. semantic memory and sensorimotor integration. Ideal candidates, in addition to having excellent teamwork and communication skills, should have high-calibre technical skills in one or more of the following: spoken language processing, speech technology, artificial intelligence or machine learning.
