September 20 - 22, 2006 Almost overlapping the DAFx-06, is a much smaller electronic sound art event, the Mid-autumn Harvest Moon Festival III, at Concordia University. Five concerts of multi-channel works (4 to 8.1) from four continents, possibly with a special surprise! Also the 10-channel Butterfly Installation Instrument with a chinese theme. There will be an updated presentation by Dominique Bassal on "Mastering in Electroacoustics", and a number of roundtable / panels on "Curricular Design in Electroacoustic Studies". Some more information can be found at: http://music.concordia.ca/harvestmoonsymposium/index.html The event will be webcast live, documented on the EuCuE site http://music.concordia.ca/EuCuE/Concerts.html, and will be the featured item in the CEC web-journal, eContact! http://cec.concordia.ca/econtact/ Free, except possibly the 'surprise' event. Best wishes Kevin Austin ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 1 Sep 2006 15:41:20 -0400 From: Vincent Verfaille <vincent@xxxxxxxx> Subject: DAFx-06 is only 2 weeks away!
