Dear list,

I'm pleased to announce the publication of my new book, "This Is Your 
Brain on Music: The Science of a Human Obsession" (Dutton/Penguin 
Books).  It is not intended for the specialist researcher, but rather 
is intended as a guide for the educated layperson to recent findings 
about the cognitive neuroscience of music listening and performance. 
It might also be suitable as an undergraduate text for a music 
cognition course.  It's available from the usual on-line sites and 
bookstores, and there is a website for the book at 
www.YourBrainOnMusic.com.
