Subject: Re: Question about In-Ear Microphones From: Elena Grassi <egrassi@xxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 1 Feb 2006 10:06:24 -0500Dear Martin, I have been using the Knowles Electronic FG-3629 (omnidirectional microphone encased in a cylindrical case with a diameter of 2.57 mm and a height of 2.57 mm) for blocked-ear canal HRTFs. They sell for about $25 at newark.com The amazing thing is that, although this microphones are not rated for ultrasound frequency, their frequency response is quite good in that range too. I have used them to measure bats' HRTFs as well. Hope you find this info useful. I found a couple of threads suggesting the Sennheiser KE 4 to be a suited mic to do the job but the threads were from 1995. So I was wondering if anybody knew of other (better? cheaper?) alternatives available nowadays. I also would be thankful for any hint where I can buy any of them. > >Thanks in advance for your help. > >Cheers, >Martin Ostermayer > > > >-------------------------------- >Martin Ostermayer >RA, School of Psychology >University of Reading >Reading, RG6 6AL, UK >-------------------------------- >______________________________________________________________ >Verschicken Sie romantische, coole und witzige Bilder per SMS! >Jetzt bei WEB.DE FreeMail: http://f.web.de/?mc=021193 ---- Elena Grassi, Ph.D. Perceptual Interfaces and Reality Lab University of Maryland Room 3355 A.
