Research Fellow Institute of Sound and Vibration Research University of Southampton UK Our Ref: 05R0297 An opportunity for a 3 year research position has arisen at the Hearing and Balance Centre of the ISVR working on improving the acquisition of Auditory Evoked Potentials for clinical diagnosis and monitoring. The main application of interest is use of the Middle Latency Response (an auditory evoked potential or AEP) to monitor depth of anaesthesia. The research will investigate new techniques to improve the acquisition and analysis of AEPs, which may have relevance to other clinical applications of AEPs such as diagnosis of hearing loss or hearing screening. Ideally the candidate should have a background in Audiology or biomedical engineering and a relevant PhD, although applications from candidates with a suitable background interested in studying for a PhD will also be considered. Appointments will be made on either Job Family Level 3 or 4 to a maximum of £23,457 according to experience and qualifications. Interviews are expected to take place on 21st December 2005.
