However I suspect that my high quality - but small - microphone will not = be sensitive enough. If I use a, say, 1 metre, parabolic dish as a sound collector focussed = onto the mike, will I get a boosted signal? If so, will it still have the same frequency response as the mike ... or = will diffraction etc effects change the response? Thanks, Richard ------=_NextPart_000_013F_01C5CB62.896C0B00 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2900.2722" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial>Hi,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial>I want to frequency analyse the = [non-directional] ambient=20 noise in a rural setting.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial>However I suspect that my high quality - but = small -=20 microphone will not be sensitive enough.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial>If I use a, say, 1 metre, parabolic dish as a = sound=20 collector focussed onto the mike, will I get a boosted = signal?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial>If so, will it still have the same frequency = response as=20 the mike ... or will diffraction etc effects change the = response?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial>Thanks,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial>Richard</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV></BODY></HTML> ------=_NextPart_000_013F_01C5CB62.896C0B00--
