Dear list, According to the theory of critical band, if two frequencies fall in the same critical band, they cannot be distinguished in perception. My question is if two pure tones with the different fundamental frequencies in the same critical band, are presented at the same time, can they be distinguished? Furthermore, if such two pure tones appear separately in two different times, can they be distinguished? Thanks a lot.
