The research programme in the School of Life and Health Sciences is internationally renowned for the interdisciplinary study of sensory and cognitive function in normal and clinical populations, incorporating auditory and visual science, = psychology, pharmacology, and neuroimaging. Current auditory research at Aston is wide-ranging and includes cochlear implants, auditory scene analysis, binaural hearing, and speech perception, using a range of techniques including psychophysics and neuroimaging. Additionally, a clinical = audiology research centre is planned to become operational in 2006/7, and this = centre will support research into improved patient outcomes in audiology, as = well as supporting our taught programmes in audiology. =20 This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary research team at an internationally competitive level.
