I have always found it odd that those most knowledgable of the hearing sciences haven't attempted to work with the population that needs auditory awareness most, those first encountering blindness. Perhaps there is already an existing relationship? I am curious what kind of references you might have to offer - any kind of auditory training (echolocation, identification based on spectral cues, etc, etc).
