Perhaps Susan's dogs are from Texas? On another note (yuk), no one has yet mentioned songbirds. Isn't it well known and documented that certain birds produce and understand complex melodies in the form of what humans consider a song? And then there are the dolphins and whales if you want to consider other mammals... And what about those birds in the PBS commercial who perch on the wires (which happen to form 5 lines with 4 spaces) and provide the perfect theme to the frustrated composer gazing out the window? Who is doing the composing? This is fun!
