Music is ever-present in the modern world and affects people=92s lives=20= strongly in various ways. Many people spend a considerable amount of=20 time daily listening to music, or playing a musical instrument. Music=20 can affect and regulate our mood and emotions, and can be used as a=20 therapeutic medium. It has also been found to be important for the=20 development of children. Modern research and technology enable us to=20 study such effects of music. Music, Mind and Technology is a Master=92s programme that leads to the=20= Master of Arts -degree. The programme aims to acquaint you with the=20 main areas of contemporary research of music perception and cognition,=20= to familiarize you with the methods and equipment used in various=20 applications of music technology, and to provide you with the skills=20 needed for designing, executing and reporting empirical investigations.=20= The latest technology, and recently completed studio facilities, will=20 be utilized on this programme. The programme consists of 120 ECTS=20 credits requiring two academic years of full-time study. The language=20 of instruction is English. Who can apply? The programme is open to applicants from all over the world with=20 Bachelor=92s Degree or equivalent, preferably majoring in one of the=20 following fields: musicology, music education, music technology,=20 acoustics, ethnomusicology, psychology, cognitive science, computer=20 science, multimedia, information science, philosophy, mathematics and=20 physics, or other relevant discipline.
