--=====================_22173500==.ALT Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Announcing the new journal JONES! Auditory list members may be interested in the new, open-access Journal of= =20 Neurobehavioral Experiments and Stimuli (JONES) dedicated to disseminating= =20 experiments in perception, cognitive neuroscience, and brain=20 imaging. JONES is a new concept in a methods journal: instead of a=20 description of the experiment, JONES hosts the actual experiment =96=20 including the experiment code and the stimuli presented. To assure experiment quality, JONES restricts publication to experiments=20 cited in peer-reviewed, research articles that have been published within=20 the last five years. Submissions to JONES must be made by one of the=20 authors of the original publication. The authors retain copyright. JONES accepts experiments programmed with any platform including Eprime,=20 Superlab, Cogent, Cortex, Psychophysics Toolbox, Presentation,=20 Tucker-Davis, Cambridge Research Labs, STIM, VSG, DMDX, DirectRT, etc. --=20 even custom programs. JONES even provides links to different experiment=20 platforms so that you can get the software needed for experiment= replication. You can browse JONES and view video samples of experiments with you web=20 browser. Download whole experiments or just stimuli posted by others.=20 JONES will speed up your research and make it easy to replicate and extend= =20 existing research paradigms. Publication is easy. Just create a .zip file with the experimental code=20 and stimuli, upload it to the JONES website, and then cut and paste the=20 abstract and links to the original publication. The publication process=20 should take about 30 min. Each publication in JONES will have a permanent= =20 URL. Links will take an interested reader from the JONES experiment to the= =20 original manuscript, or from the manuscript (or your website) directly to=20 the experiment! JONES is hosted as public service by NeuroBehavioral Systems. Publication=20 in JONES is free. To encourage submissions, for a limited time each=20 experiment published in JONES will entitle the author to a free, one-year=20 Presentation license. Visit JONES at=20 <http://www.neuroexpts.com>http://www.neuroexpts.com to learn more. Sincerely, JONES Staff at NBS David L.
