I would be happy to respond to informal inquiries. -Eric Healy Assist/Assoc Prof: The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of South Carolina has a 9-month, tenure-track position available. Applicants must possess an earned doctorate and demonstrate a clear line of research with strong potential for extramural funding. Individuals applying at the associate level must have an established recorded of funded research. Teaching load commensurate with the need for excellence in research. The ASHA CCC is not required. Outstanding applicants from all disciplines will be considered. Individuals specializing in child language are especially encouraged to apply. The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is within the Arnold School of Public Health, which leads the University in research funding. Construction of new facilities, including new state of the art laboratory space, began in 2003. The University of South Carolina is a comprehensive research institution with an enrollment of over 25,000 students, of whom more than 9,500 (38%) are pursuing post-baccalaureate degrees. The department offers both the masters and doctoral degrees and has a long history of collaboration with psychology and linguistics faculty. Located in Columbia, the state capital and largest city, university faculty enjoy the comforts of a modern Southern city with a mild climate, situated 90 miles from the mountains or beaches.
