I'm planning to purchase a Digital Audio Tape recorder to record natural speech in an outdoor environment. I'm considering purchasing the Sony TCD-D100 ("DAT Walkman"). If you have experience using this or any other DAT recorder in outdoor settings I'd like to know your thoughts on the pros and cons of the Sony model and if you think another model, such as the Tascam DA-P1, might be a better choice.
