It is appropriate for a scientist who has either just completed= =20 a doctorate or is in the early post-doctoral period. The candidate will=20 work on auditory scene analysis by cochlear implant subjects and by=20 normally hearing subjects. It is expected that the successful candidate=20 will have some experience in, or knowledge of cochlear implant research,=20 and will gain additional training and experience during the appointment.=20 Related work in Dr. Carlyon=92s group includes pitch perception and the=20 processing of frequency changes in the normal auditory system,=20 neurophysiological correlates of higher-level auditory processes, and the=20 effects of attention on concurrent sound segregation. The expected start date will be 1 October 2004 but funds are available=20 immediately.
