Apologies for multiple postings and please, circulate to all interested colleagues. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PME04 is a Conference on the relationships between Psychology and Music Education. The aim of the Symposium is to provide a forum for discussion of the results of research in Psychology and define implications for Music Education. Normally there are no evident connections between the two disciplines. We would promote interpretations, collaborations, and interdisciplinary combinations that are new, unusual, creative. The symposium will be a forum for constructive interaction between and among Psychology of Music and Music Education researchers. The conference is hosted by the Department of Educational Sciences, the Department of Developmental Psychology, the Department of General Psychology, the Faculty of Psychology, University of Padova and the SSIS of Veneto (University of Venice). The official languages of the conference will be English and Italian. The proceedings PME04 will be available at the desk of the conference. A selection of the papers presented will be edited by SSIS of Veneto (University of Venice). People interested in an active participation are invited to submit an abstract by 30 June 2004. All abstract submissions will be anonymously peer-reviewed by international experts. Abstracts selected will normally reflect an experimental, observational, descriptive, or ethnographic research design and will focus upon a clearly articulated research question or hypothesis and theoretical background, linked to a clear and appropriate methodology. The deadline for abstract submission is 30 June 2004. The authors of all accepted works are invited to submit a long version of the abstract by 31 October 2004.
