John Rosowski has also looked at this issue quite a bit.  See also Chapter
29 in The Evolutionary Biology of Hearing (part of the Springer-Verlag
series on hearing that came out several years ago) - much of that material
is covered in more detail in "What Did Morganucodon Hear?" J.J. Rosowski
and A. Graybeal, Zoological Journal of the Linnean Soc. 101: 131-168 (1991).
