Dear colleagues, A paper describing a minimal auditory-nerve model for first-spike timing and spontaneous-rate has just appeared in the Journal of Computational Neuroscience. The model accounts for only a limited range of phenomena (yet), but it does account for that limited range very well. An abstract is available at: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&lis t_uids=12215723&dopt=Abstract while the actual paper (in pdf format) can be found at: http://brahms.cpmc.columbia.edu/~suresh/jcns2002.pdf Because this journal is not a "standard" place for auditory papers, I thought it would be good to announce it here. Regards, Suresh ************** Suresh Krishna Post-doctoral Fellow, Mahoney Institute for Mind and Brain at Columbia University.
