The application is polyphonic music transcription. The project, funded by Enterprise Ireland will start in January 2002. The posts are for 24 months. The overall aim of the project will be to investigate combining CASA and BSS techniques in the separation of multiple sources. Candidates for the Post Doc. should hold a PhD (or be close to completion) and have experience in either CASA or BSS or related area. Candidates for the studentship should hold a BSc/BE/BEng and preferably have experience of signal processing/DSP. The student will be registered for an MSc/MEng in the first instance. The main deliverable of the project will be a prototype system demonstrating the combined model applied to mixtures and music fragments. The successful candidate will take up the post as soon as possible and will be based in the Departments of the Computer Science and Electronic Engineering. The Post Doc. will have a unique opportunity to help develop a research group involving these two departments and will be able to contribute actively to the shaping of this group. The group has a number of collaborations with European partners and the Fellow will be encouraged to develop these and develop new ones.
