I believe that the mechanism responsible for hearing music is usually in the left temporal lobe. While the cochlear mechanism of those of us with endolymphatic hydrops of whatever cause is interesting, I do not recall any case when it caused anything closer to music to be heard than diplocusis or tinnitus.
