Dear List, I have posted on my Web site some results of tests on a signal processor showing real-time direction of arrival of the sounds of moving vehicles. The object was to test the system in a noisy, reverberant situation. Using a binaural microphone located beside a busy highway I recorded the sounds of an automobile and a motorcycle as they passed by at high speed. Along with a brief explanation, the data are shown as a plot of the DOAs and their associated periodicities. There is also an audible demonstration of the recorded and reconstructed vehicle sounds.
