Regarding a number of threads on loud sounds and ear plugs (on both lists), I believe I recall reading that there is only one layer of skin inside the ear canal, compared to 7 (?) layers over the rest of the body. (1) Is this correct? (2) What are the short and long term abrasion effects of various kinds of ear plugs? (3) If there is some wax (or debris) buildup in the ear canal, what happens when long (or contoured) plugs are inserted? Thanks Best Kevin kaustin(at)vax2.concordia.ca -11 and not-a-cloud
