I have no direct evidence for the following conclusion but, I strongly suspect that directional hearing is transformed to Acoustic Environment prediction in the Cerebellum, i.e., acoustic estimate of room surface positions and source locations. Whether (or not) these calculations are cerebellar localized at least fits cerebellar neural architecture but, my work supports trigonometric (Law of Cosines) needs to iteratively (calculate) map acoustic environments from delay and arrival angle estimates.
