COCHLEAR IMPLANT AND PSYCHOACOUSTIC RESEARCH IN CAMBRIDGE A three-year fixed-term scientific position is available at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, Cambridge, UK. The post has arisen as a result of an externally funded grant entitled "Segregating concurrent sounds in acoustic and electric hearing", awarded to Dr. Bob Carlyon in collaboration with Dr. Colette McKay (University of Melbourne) and with the cochlear implant centre at Addenbrooke's hospital, Cambridge.=20 The successful applicant will be expected to help develop a programme of cochlear implant research in Cambridge, and will have the opportunity to perform parallel psychoacoustic experiments with normal listeners. It is expected that the candidate will have gained a Ph.D. in auditory (preferably cochlear implant) research, and will have up to three years postdoctoral experience.=20 The appointment will be on the MRC band 4 salary scale. The starting salary will be in the range of =A318,000 to =A321,000 depending upon qualifications and experience, rising by performance pay to a maximum of =A328,900 per annu= m supported by an MRC pension scheme.
