Shouldn't the distiguishing of song from instrumental music involve 'looking' for the changing filtering characteristics brought on by vowel transitions? Instruments (traditional acoustic instruments anyway) don't have those kinds of fil;tering characteristics (except for trombone w/ toilet plunger mute transitions, I imagine.)
