But newer human auditory data are showing, inreasingly frequently, just how little we may know about the way the auditory system handles time-varying information. Before we jump into modelling, we should learn more about this monster of a system that is non-time-invariant and nonlinear, masquarading as a linear time-invariant system (for suprathreshold inputs, at least).
