AUDITORY CORTEX POST-DOCTORAL POSITION KRESGE HEARING RESEARCH INSTITUTE A post-doctoral position is available to study cortical mechanisms of directional hearing with Dr. John Middlebrooks. The principal activity will involve single-unit studies of cortical coding of sound location in the cat's auditory cortex (see Science 264:842-422, 1994). We will use multi-channel single-unit recording, free-field acoustical stimulation, and computational modeling. The applicant should have interest and experience in single-unit physiology and/or psychoacoustics. Mathematical and/or computational skills also are an asset. Contact Dr. John C. Middlebrooks, Kresge Hearing Research Institute, 1301 E. Ann St., Ann Arbor, MI 48109-0506; Internet: jmidd(at)umich.edu
