Of course, after all the noise and fuss of setting up an alternative
point of distribution, the original address has now been fixed.
Thank you, Lyne Thibault!  With luck, this unexplained bizarre
disruption should not recur.

You can now use the address AUDITORY(at)VM1.MCGILL.CA to post to auditory
again.  This is the preferred address, although I will make sure the
media-lab equivalent points to it anyway.
