Hello, I'm looking for information on how amplitude modulation (AM) influences perception of the timbre of complex stimuli. In particular, I have read that the spectral shape of a complex will determine its timbre to some extent. However, sinusoidal AM introduces periodic fluctuations in the spectral shape. Does this make the shape cue more or less salient? Anyone out there have relevant references? Thanks, Mike
