Two positions are available. One is in psychoacoustics and concentrates on the dynamic properties of auditory perception, especially the processing of amplitude and frequency modulation. The other concentrates on auditory coding and in relating basic psychoacoustic phenomena to auditory physiology. Applicants must have a Ph.D. with background, including research experience, in psychoacoustics or auditory neurophysiology. Skills in quantitative modeling and in computer usage in auditory research are desirable. The research will be conducted primarily at the Psychoacoustics Laboratory under the direction of Dr. Neal Viemeister. Salary: $26,000 to $28,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The appointments are as Research Associates and are for 12 months at 100% time. The appointments are renewable, contingent upon satisfactory performance and availability of continued funding. The starting date is approximately September 1, 1994.
