I regret to inform you of the recent death of Rob Waltham. Rob had been working on the perception of musical structure. Just before Easter he had completed some computational modelling work on cadence identification. In order that this work should not go unrecognised, some of his friends are helping me to assemble a portfolio of this project. We know he had discussed it with several people across the email system. We would be very grateful if anyone can send us copies of their correspondence on this work to add to the portfolio. As Rob may have belonged to other networks involving discussions on auditory perception and sound and music processing, we would be grateful if this message could be forwarded wherever appropriate.
