Dear list, We use an ER7C probe microphone system to measure ear canal SPL from participants during our human ECochG recordings. This microphone system consists of a small barrel-shaped microphone with a stainless steel nipple that connect to a silicone
probe tube for placement in the ear canal. Yesterday, I discovered that the microphone has failed after 10+ years of operation. The preamplifier seems to be in working order, though. Etymotic no longer sells this system and I doubt they support it in terms
of repairs. Do any of you have suggestions on how I might get the microphone repaired or purchase a second-hand replacement ER7C? Also, any thoughts on an alternative probe microphone system from a different manufacturer? Crucially, I need a system
that uses silicone probe tubes which can be threaded through a bore of a standard ER3C foam insert. I have considered the AudioScan – Verifit probe module; however, I have not found a suitable stand-alone preamplifier for this probe module. Many thanks for your help and advice! Skyler -- Skyler G.
