RESEARCH AUDIOLOGIST COCHLEAR IMPLANT COGNITION AND COMMUNICATION LABORATORY Co-Directed by Aaron Moberly, MD, and Terrin Tamati, PhD VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER We are seeking a full-time Research Audiologist for the Cochlear Implant Cognition and Communication Lab (https://www.vumc.org/ent/CICCL) located in vibrant Nashville, Tennessee. Our multi-disciplinary
lab, co-directed by Drs. Aaron Moberly, MD, and Terrin Tamati, PhD, focuses on optimizing speech recognition and quality of life outcomes among adults with cochlear implants.
As a Research Audiologist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our lab for NIH-funded studies on cochlear implant outcomes in adults. Current research includes two parallel longitudinal studies that investigate the auditory, cognitive,
and linguistic factors that predict cochlear implant outcomes in adults over the first two years after implantation, and the relationships of auditory and social experiences to outcomes.
The primary roles of the full-time Research Audiologist will be to partner with the Principal Investigators for oversight of the process of structured protocol development, participant recruitment, scheduling, and testing; training of research
assistants; collection, scoring, and management of participant data (including maintenance of RedCap database); writing of abstracts and manuscripts related to these projects; support with writing grant proposals.
The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, highly collaborative, and display a strong enthusiasm for cochlear implant research. Ideally (but not required) the applicant will have experience with cochlear implants and behavioral testing
of human participants, and prior experience using RedCap. Preferred (but not required) background in Hearing and Speech Sciences, Audiology, Psychology, Linguistics, or related fields. Ideally the applicant should have an AuD, PhD, or combined AuD/PhD degrees.
