I agree with the suggestion that spontaneous motor reaction can take
place while listening to music.

As a consequence of a stroke, the right half of my cerebellum have been surgically removed, so this "spontaneous motor reaction" is gone from the right side of my body (among some more important fine motor skills, like writing). I wonder whether this "spontaneous motor reaction" originates from the cerebellum, or is it just responsible for the execution, and
the reaction originates somewhere deeper?

Subject: [AUDITORY] absorption scales - recommendations

dear list,

this is a question to those of you who do research on music and
emotion. I have noticed that there are a couple of scales that look
into “absorption”, say when listening to music or poetry or when
engaging with nature etc. are there any of those scales or
subscales you would particularly recommend? the tellegen & atkinson
(1974) scale seems to be a widely used one. but there are other
ones, too (e.g., glisky et al., 1991). in order to use them we
would also need their scoring schemes. any help will be highly
appreciated.

best,

esra
