The Department of Linguistics at the University of Kansas invites applications for a
non-tenure track, limited term appointment for two academic years for a Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin as early as August 18, 2024. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Linguistics or a closely related field (expected by the start date of the
appointment) with a specialization in Phonology. We especially welcome candidates who can collaborate in research and teaching with current faculty in other areas such as phonetics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, language acquisition, sociolinguistics,
and fieldwork. The successful candidate should demonstrate excellence in teaching as well as a strong record of research in phonology. The teaching load is three courses in the fall and three courses in the spring, including introductory courses in linguistics
and more specialized courses in phonology at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
