Doctoral student position in sound and music computing at KTH, Stockholm, SwedenProject descriptionThe project “Non-verbal communication of invisible information: New methods for communicating complex and inaccessible information through sound”, funded by the Swedish Research Council, is looking for a PhD candidate. The purpose of this project is to raise awareness and enhance understanding of the invisible digital world surrounding users of any digital device/application, especially those making use of large amounts of data. The main aim is to establish new methods for enabling the communication of complex and inaccessible information leveraging on sound as the primary communication channel. The research mainly belongs to the fields of code analysis, data sonification, interactive sonification, multisensory perception, sound design, and non-verbal communication. The project has an interdisciplinary approach at the intersection of computer science, sound design and the arts. The doctoral student will work at both KTH Royal Institute of Technology and KMH Royal College of Music with access to their facilities and technology.
