[AUDITORY] Two postdoctoral positions related to hearing research at University College London

TWO POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS AT UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON

Please forward to anyone who might be interested, this information about two postdoctoral positions currently available at University College London. One is in the computational neuroscience of sound representation, the other is in translational research related to hearing health.

Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit / Ear Institute, University College London

We invite applications for a 2-year postdoc position based at the Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit, University College London and supervised by Professor Maneesh Sahani (Gatsby Unit) and Professor Jennifer Linden (UCL Ear Institute). The goal of the project is to apply state-of-the-art unsupervised inferential approaches to learn models of acoustic environments, and evaluate the fidelity with which they reproduce neural recordings in the auditory cortex from animals raised in either routine or altered acoustic settings. We're looking for someone with strong quantitative/computational skills and a keen interest in unsupervised learning and sensory processing. Application deadline is 28 February 2023.

UCL Ear Institute / NIHR-UCLH Biomedical Research Centre Hearing Health Theme

We invite applications for a 3-year postdoc position based at the Ear Institute, University College London and integrated closely with ongoing translational work of the National Institute for Health Research / University College Hospitals Biomedical Research Centre Hearing Health Theme. This position will be jointly supervised by Professor Jennifer Linden and Professor Maria Chait. The goal of the project is to contribute to translational development of a novel signal-processing algorithm for improving speech intelligibility, by undertaking auditory psychophysics, behavioural and EEG experiments in participants with and without hearing loss. We're looking for someone with relevant previous research experience and a strong interest in translational research related to hearing health. Application deadline is 20 March 2023.
