[AUDITORY] 2nd CALL FOR PAPERS: AUDICTIVE Conference, Aachen - 20 June - 22 June 2023

Dear list,

This is the 2nd Call for Papers for the AUDICTIVE Conference held in Aachen:

AUDICTIVE brings together researchers from different disciplines – acoustics (perception and rendering), cognitive psychology, and computer science (virtual reality, VR) - by encouraging joint research efforts to enhance our understanding of and competence in the field of auditory cognition in interactive virtual environments, as a proxy to the real world.

AUDICTIVE aims at research where VR technology is used to investigate basic theories of auditory perception and cognition in more complex scenes, reflecting real-life environments. In turn, AUDICTIVE shall foster research that investigates the extent to which VR systems enable required sensory information and/or control for all potentially relevant aspects of auditory perception and cognition to be provided.

We have three outstanding keynote-speakers:

Barbara Shinn-Cunningham, Director of Carnegie Mellon Neuroscience Institute George A. and Helen Dunham Cowan Professor of Auditory Neuroscience, and Alexandra Bendixen, Professor of Structure and function of cognitive systems at TU Chemnitz, and
Frank Steinicke, Professor for Human-Computer Interaction at the Department of Informatics at the Universität Hamburg.

Contributions can still be submitted until 10 February 2023: https://www.spp2236-audictive.de/conference.html

Conference dates:
19 June 2023: 6 pm, Welcome Drinks and Get-together at SuperC, RWTH Aachen University
20 June - 22 June 2023: Conference at SuperC, RWTH Aachen University

The conference will be a leading event in the areas of acoustics, auditory cognition, and interactive virtual environments for research purposes. It is a great opportunity for participants to meet in person, to expand their knowledge, to share new techniques and competences.

The conference is free of charge. It includes refreshments during the day and the conference dinner (except accommodation and travel, which are the responsibility of the participants). In order for an accepted submission to be included in the conference programme and proceedings, at least one of the authors of the submission must register and present the poster at the conference.

Author information
