We are looking for a project-based
contractor to set up and install its acoustical test lab in Cambridge, MA,
USA. The contractor will be responsible for the completion of the
following tasks in the project:
- Configuration of an
accurate sound field to reproduce different noise conditions and
target speech at different environmental/acoustical conditions
- Minor physical
adjustments to the listening room/acoustics lab such as the installation
of absorption panels and/or basic soundproofing
- Configuration of a
data collection pipeline for microphones and smart devices
- Setting up of an
automated pipeline for the measurement of speech level, noise level, SNR,
and relevant metadata
- Development of
software to automatically annotate audio with metadata such as acoustical
condition, type of device, SNR, sound levels, etc.
- Development of
scripts to analyze the collected data: basic statistical analysis,
visual tools for audio, and support for 3rd-party (or in-house)
plugins
- Configuration of
the pipeline to sustain long experimental runtimes (spanning over days or
weeks)
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in
electrical engineering, acoustics, physics, or related areas
- 5+ years of experience
in acoustics, data analysis, data collection, and audio quality testing
- Proven track record of
configuring and installing acoustical labs
- Extensive experience in
developing scripting and statistical analysis tools in the context of
speech recognition and audio classification
- Extensive knowledge of
acoustics, audio and speech processing
