Dear colleagues,
I hope you are well and my apologies for cross-posting.
We are still looking to fill two fully funded PhD positions to research music and imagination at the MARCS Institute at Western Sydney University.
One project focuses on empirically exploring how musical features affect imagination:
And the other project focuses on using insights in music induced imagination for algorithmic music generation.
The deadline is now the extended to the end of August with a starting date some time this year.
It would be great if you could forward this add to students that might be interested. This paper here might also give candidates a rough idea what the project is about
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-021-95260-8. Interested students are also encouraged to get in touch with me early for an informal chat where I can answer all their questions before they apply, as
the projects' scope is more flexible than the ads might suggest.
Thanks a lot and best wishes,
Steffen
