Dear Auditory List, Please circulate to any colleagues who might be interested.
We are looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Psychology and Hearing, to join the Hearing Group in the Department of Psychology at Nottingham Trent University (NTU). The post As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Psychology and Hearing you will be joining a growing group. We have a research track record of diverse topics in hearing: ranging from the neural coding of sound
to multisensory integration and cognition, in normal-hearing and hearing-impaired populations. We have a wide range of lab facilities including a sound-attenuating booth, EEG, TMS, 1.5T MRI (currently used for structural scanning with functional capabilities
in the process of installation), eye trackers, and a standing panel of over 300 older volunteers to facilitate research into the consequences of ageing. You will have a strong profile of independent research in any area of hearing, from fundamental neuroscience
to strongly translational, and an ambition to produce internationally recognised work which will make a difference.
Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and NTU Psychology NTU Psychology is a thriving and supportive department (marketing blurb but also my personal experience), with a large and diverse group of psychologists. It has one of the largest and most productive
research units in the University, and was responsible for a quarter of all academic outputs at NTU in the 2021 REF cycle. It also has an outstanding reputation for teaching on our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It is the largest provider of full-time
undergraduate degrees in psychology in the UK, and National Student Satisfaction (NSS) for overall satisfaction has been above 90% for eight of the last nine years. It even has its own undergraduate course textbook. The department was also the first in the
University to achieve Athena SWAN recognition, and leads on initiatives to decolonise the curriculum. As a University NTU is a diverse and dynamic environment with a real sense of progress. Recent accolades include Guardian University of the Year 2019; a ‘Gold’ rating in the government’s Teaching
Excellence Framework; the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for research; and in 2018, it was the first UK university to sign the Social Mobility Pledge. More details Can be found on the on NTU vacancies: https://vacancies.ntu.ac.uk/displayjob.aspx?jobid=10847 And on jobs.ac.uk:
